El Paraiso Encontro

Perfect Andalusian Retreat

Johnson United States  Review Submitted: June 19, 2010

Paraiso Encontro was our home for two and a half weeks in May, 2010  and was everything we had hoped to find. Just looking at the photos again takes us right back there! The apartment was fully equipped and so comfortable and thoughtfully designed to ensure maximum privacy yet with the freedom to roam the beautiful grounds.
The location is ideal and Mary and Peter were so welcoming - including stocking the fridge! - and cheerfully showed us around the charming town of Priego de Córdoba, including the best tapas bars! They were next door to meet any need we had, yet always sensitive to maintaining the privacy of their guests.
What a lovely 'home' it was to return to after a wonderful day exploring the beautiful surroundings, or after an overnight in Córdoba or Granada - The perfect base for an extended stay.
Thank you Mary and Peter - We would love a repeat!

"The villa is situated in a perfect location. Easy driving distance to Granda and Cordoba, the beautiful walks along the Via Verde and a few minutes on foot to the stunning town of Priego which has everything you could wish for in terms of bars, restaurants, interesting museums and spectacular baroque churches. The villa itself has every amenity for a comfortable stay, is spotlessly clean and the hosts, Pete and Mary, cannot do enough to make you feel at home. Their hospitality was put the test when we were stranded by the volcanic ash problem and they were so kind in enabling us to stay on in the villa. What could have been a bit of an ordeal was turned into an extra weeks great holiday with their generous support. "

"The casita is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The pool area is well maintained and was a lovely spot to while away the afternoons after exploring the local area. Peter and Mary are great hosts, making us feel very welcome and providing advice when needed. A great location for touring this beautiful area. Highly recommended."

"The welcome was really friendly and informative in terms of the facilities at both the casa and surrounding area. The property was immaculate in terms of presentation and cleanliness. The location is wonderful as a centre for touring around this interesting part of Spain, and benefits from being on the edge of a pleasant "working" small town which has good facilities. Mary and Peter are wonderful hosts who have done a great job in providing this perfect escape in the midst of the olive groves." "

"What a lovely spot with a short walk to the town Preigo if a bit uphill, the finca very clean and very well looked after. Big lounge diner with very nice furnishings, great bedroom with en-suite. Pete and Mary both very friendly and provided a great welcome pack including fresh veg and fruit from their garden which kept us going all week. A great stay."

"This is a lovely little villa in a wonderful location. Peter and Mary are excellent hosts and on hand if you need anything. Their welcome pack was more than adequate, it kept us going for days with both food and drink. The villa, pool and grounds are all spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. Priego is a beautiful town with lots of interesing architecture and some fatastic restaurants. Thre are plenty of individual shops to buy typically Spanish goods without it ever feeling too touristy. The area is excellent for sightseeing with castles, local restaurants and pristine white pueblos being standard. There is a fantastic fort at Alcala, and a Roman villa at Almedinilla, both are almost on the doorstep."

"We were made most welcome with all the information we needed given both verbally and in writing. There was a most generous welcome pack! The two dogs were also very welcoming. The pool area was a great place to cool down as it was very hot while we were there. It met all our expectations and we would have no reservations about recommending it."
